GENERAL SUMMARY The lifeguard works under the supervision of the Wellness Operations Manager.
The lifeguards primary job is to provide a safe and high quality environment for members and patients.
The lifeguard is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of all the aquatic areas.
Qualifications Education:
Basic Literary Skills requiredLifeguard certification requiredBLS/AED for the professional rescuer within 90 days of hire requiredLicensure:
Experience:
Previous experience as a Lifeguard preferredExcellent communication skills to interact with a wide range of clients.
Ability to work independently.

Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to read and adjust chemical feeders, pump gauges, back wash, pool vacuum, test pool water.
Essential Technical/Motor Skills:
Essential Physical Requirements:
Physical demand level is medium to heavy.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 to 75 lbs.
Ability to calculate needed chemicals based on water quality readings.

Ability to see, hear, smell, and speak clearly required.
Exposure to Hazards:
Constant exposure to heat/humidity, chemicals, and odors.

N/AJOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job.
Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.
Specific activities may change from time to time.
Greets all members and patients entering aquatic area.
Supervise bathers and swimmers using pool.
Assures that all users use pool safely and do not jeopardize other swimmers.
Provides coverage on deck while there is at least 1 person in the pool.
Provides instruction to members requesting help with water exercise and/or swimming help.
Performs chemicals test regularly and logs results.
Performs regularly scheduled pool maintenance including backwashing and vacuuming.
Maintains clean aquatic environment.
Regularly cleans decks, hallways, and water equipment.
Assists LIFE Center Service Reps in upkeep of locker rooms.
Demonstrates understanding of the automatic pool system.
Maintains adequate supplies and aquatic chemicals for the automatic pool system.
Other duties as assigned.
Salary:
$11 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
